Sawyer the Dog needs a home

Sawyer is a big, wonderful boy who was originally rescued from a home where there were a few too many animals. He is a Maremma Sheepdog, also known as an Italian Sheepdog and is about 7-8  yrs. old. While Sawyer enjoys being outside and going on long walks, he was raised in a home as a companion animal and likes to be close to his family. He bonds well with his people and LOVES being petted and will quietly seek out attention (he will even bring you slippers!). Sawyer can be a bit shy and fearful in new situations so patience is needed. Sawyer is house trained, and he has lived with other dogs and cats his entire life. He enjoys playing with other dogs, and 90 percent of the time Sawyer is content to coexist with other animals. However he has some resource guarding issues towards other animals (meaning that he is very possessive over things he values, like toys and treats), so he would do best as an only pet in the home or with a family who is dog and cat savvy and is willing to manage his behaviors.  Sawyer is looking for a quiet, adult, home where he can spend his golden years with someone who will give him all the time, love and patience he deserves to be happy - he is truly a wonderful, sweet dog. Please e-mail us or contact 715-468-7784 to find out more about this very special dog.
